Grocery list app for BlackBerry now free.
Some time ago I stopped (“actively”) developing BlackBerry apps, mostly because of laziness and lack of time (I’ve been doing this in my spare time beside my day job). While I was still fixing problems and adding features from time to time just to maintain the “works for me” status, I didn’t really provide any support to customers anymore. Since I think it’s not fair to sell apps I don’t (want to) actively support, I also removed those apps from the app stores. I didn’t think anyone would notice, but apparently some people are still using and loving those apps, and they started sending me lots of mails.
While this doesn’t change much for me (I still can’t provide the support paying customers deserve) I also think it would be sad to keep the apps for myself. So what I’m going to do now is release the apps here on my website, completely free of charge. Feel free to download and use them. You may even contact me for support, however chances are that I won’t answer or fix anything (soon).
So, here’s the first app to be released for free: Black Market (Open this link in your BlackBerry browser to install.)
I’m currently using it on a BlackBerry 9860 (OS 7) and it works for me, it’ll probably work for you too. If you really really like it, you may even want to donate to say thank you.
At least two more free apps will be released soon, so check for new articles if you’re interested.
